I see the experience with the sitter as a journey of exploration and discovery rather than a one and done. The images can be in the studio or at a location of the sitter’s choosing. The focus is specifically on the individual and how they wish to be seen. The process of image making is over a period of time to allow the collaboration of going over the images to see what is working or not in the images but also to allow for shifts to occur with the sitter’s perception of themselves as we progress over time in the making of the images. In a way I am a vehicle or a witness for the sitter’s visual self exploration and discovery. From this experience with the sitter images will emerge that I call Self Portraits. The images are Self Portraits as the images are of the sitter’s Self at the time the images are created.
