Without Words is a body of work that is currently being created.  The creation of the images started as a way to reconnect with my photography, which was dormant during the pandemic.  With each new set of images made, questions have arisen.  Questions that are not only personal but also questions that speak to subjects like global warming.  "What is our connection with the world that we live in?" is one of the questions that has even more meaning with the further withdrawal from our natural world into one that is created on the computer.  Questions raise new questions, like "why do we want to withdraw from a place that supports us on so many levels."  The title "Without Words" arose from the question of "Why is everything labeled or contextualized?" and "Is it possible for the viewer to have their own experience with the image without being told how to experience the work?"  Being in the world is a bodily experience of being without the limitations of the constructs that are words.
